Pangong Tso

We visited Pangong Tso Lake in August 2014. It was so beautiful, it cannot be described in words or photos. You will find plenty of photos of the lake on the internet. What the photos don’t show is the changing color of the water every 10mins. The lake is surrounded by colorful mountains which give a superb back drop to the lake. When we reached the lakes water was turquoise in color & it kept changing till sunset. The weather was very cold & windy. Temperatures were around 2 to 4 degrees. The bone chilling wind was killing. Whoever goes to Ladakh should stay at Pangong lake at least for a night if not more. The journey to Pangong Tso Lake must be undertaken as a traveler, not tourist, allowing for the sights and sounds of silence to sink in.
